Leysdown-on-Sea, Isle of Sheppey

Muswell Manor is surrounded by Natural Beauty.  We have panoramic views of the Swale Estuary and fantastic sea views from the Bed & Breakfast.  We are approximately 1 mile from Leysdown village and 200 yards from the beach.

Leysdown is a traditional British Seaside resort on the East side of the Isle of Sheppey.  It was noted in the Domesday book as being called Legedun from the Saxon words "leswe" (pasture) "Dun" (Hill).

Holiday Park Leysdown

Leysdown has a very relaxed feel with its miles of beautiful beaches and its shallow waters which have won awards from The Marine Conservation Society and the Quality Coast.  Which also makes this part of the coast a good place for Anglers to set up their rods in anticipation of a good catch!

For those of you wishing to explore more of the local nature we have The Swale National Nature Reserve with its forty-five acres of unspoilt greenery which is open throughout the year. It forms part of the internationally recognised Coastal Marshlands of North Kent.  It is a veritable paradise for bird watchers with hides that are signposted from the footpath.  It is a three mile circular trail that is mostly flat.

As with most seaside resorts Leysdown has its fair share of colorful amusements to entertain all ages along with a Pitch and Putt course for if you fancy something a little more relaxing! Or, why not have a nice family picnic at the Spinney, which is an area of open space in the middle of Leysdown with a play area and picnic benches.  It takes its name from the woodland that was present in this area up until the 1960's. If you dont fancy making a picnic then there is no shortage of cafes and takeaways to choose from.

Finally, if all of this is not enough, for those of you with extra energy to burn may we suggest a ride round our fantastic Cycle/Walking route, The Isle of Harty Trail, that goes straight past our door and will take you past many attractions including The Spinney, Pitch and Putt, Harty Church, RSPB Capel Fleet Raptor Viewing Point and the Swale National Nature Reserve.
